We have all heard the saying "a picture is worth a thousand words". But when you are publishing a photography blog your audience wants to know a little bit more about your photograph than what they can obviously see.
For example,
If I post this:
My audience would probably not be to interested in what you wrote because they can clearly see all of those things in the image. You want to tell your audience something that they cant see for themselves. Give them an idea of your thought process.
Here are some questions to ask yourself about a photograph when writing captions for your photographs.
1.What is the title of your photograph?
2. What elements of design did I use in this photograph?
Key Words: Line, Texture, Color, Shape
3. What compositional techniques make did I use to make this photograph more interesting .
Key Words: Rule of thirds, balance, camera angle, pattern, leading line
4. What makes the subject matter interesting to you?
5. How does the photograph make you feel.
6. Ask the viewer a question.
You do not have to answer every question on the list only those that are important to your photograph.

Survivor
I was walking by an abandoned lot when a random pop of color caught my eye. As I stooped down to inspect it further, I was struck by its simple beauty against the cold backdrop of the buildings. Its strength reminded me that there is beauty all around me if I just pay attention. What beautiful things have you seen lately?
